Art
Do you ever have those days when you don't have much to do? Today is one of those days for me, so I decided to do a post. Anywho, just to give some background on this blog it is to raise awareness for the 2010 VCU Arab Film Festival and future ones held at VCU.YES! This blog is for a grade, but I really enjoy blogging anyways so this hardly feels like work. I honestly don't know much about the Arab culture which is why I will be attending the film festival, as you should too!(see side bar for details) Well anyways I've just been typing subjects that I am interested in, into google just to see what I can find about the Arabic culture. Today I typed in "arabic art" and here are some lovely art pieces that popped up!
I don't know what the text in this picture says but on the webpage I got it from it described that it is a verse from the QuRan in Arabic.

What is the VCU Arab FIlm Festival?
The 2010 VCU ARab film festival is a cultural event held on Virginia Commonwealth's University campus annually. The film festival is an open dialogue between the various Arab nations in the Middle East and Africa, and also between the United States. I personally am excited because I love to attend different cultural events held on campus throughout the year. I think college is a great way to learn about other people and their cultures.I honestly didn't even know VCU had an Arab film festival until I took my PR lab class. Anywho, here is some information on the event.
It will be held In the VCU commons theatre at the student commons
Date: Jan 31,2010; Feb 1,2010,and Feb 4,2010
Time:1pm-10pm on all three dates
This event will be full of informal information, fun, and entertainment! It is targeted to students, professors, professionals, artists, scholars, and anyone who takes an interest in learning about other people and respect other cultures. Come out and support the 2010 VCU Arab film festival and learn something new while having fun!
