Art
Do you ever have those days when you don't have much to do? Today is one of those days for me, so I decided to do a post. Anywho, just to give some background on this blog it is to raise awareness for the 2010 VCU Arab Film Festival and future ones held at VCU.YES! This blog is for a grade, but I really enjoy blogging anyways so this hardly feels like work. I honestly don't know much about the Arab culture which is why I will be attending the film festival, as you should too!(see side bar for details) Well anyways I've just been typing subjects that I am interested in, into google just to see what I can find about the Arabic culture. Today I typed in "arabic art" and here are some lovely art pieces that popped up!
I don't know what the text in this picture says but on the webpage I got it from it described that it is a verse from the QuRan in Arabic.

Top 6 Reasons to Attend the VCU Arab Film Festival 2010
1. College is the perfect time to learn about so many different types of people, and since we attend such a diverse college with opportunities like this one, we might as well take advantage.
2. A great chance to see some beautiful artwork and thought-provoking films.
3. There will be so many people! Between professors, students, artists, scholars, professionals...come and network! (We expect as many as 1,000 guests.)
4. Promote intercultural competence and open-mindedness.
5. Something fun to go to with your friends...it's right on campus.
6. It's FREE!!!
